In general, dogs should eat about 2-3% of their body weight daily. 
Puppies should eat about 2-3% of their expected adult body weight.

 

Dog caloric intake varies wildly from dog to dog depending on activity level, age, metabolism, breed, gender, reproductive status, if it is spayed/neutered and ideal weight. As always, experiment, use common sense, and talk to your vet. Our general guidelines are as follows:

Recipe #1
Raw ground beef
2 ½ lbs. 90% lean ground beef
4 oz. chicken liver (or other organ meat)
1 small apple
1 carrot
2 whole eggs (no shells)
½ C. spinach
1 T. olive oil 
1 T. ground flax
½ C. yogurt
2 ½ T. Top Dog Meal Completer

  1. Grind or chop the chicken liver.
  2. Puree the apple, carrot, eggs, spinach, olive oil and flax.
  3. Mix in ground beef and Top Dog Meal Completer.
  4. Divide into portions and freeze.
  5. Top with yogurt when served.

Raw ground turkey
5 lbs. 93% ground turkey
2 lbs. chicken heart
1 lb. beef liver
6 eggs (no shells)
8 oz. kale
8 oz. broccoli
8 oz. dandelion greens or spinach
12 oz. blueberries or mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and cranberries)
5 T. Top Dog Meal Completer

  1. Grind or chop the chicken heart and beef liver.
  2. Puree the eggs, kale, broccoli, dandelion greens and berries in a food processor.
  3. Mix the ground turkey, liver, heart and veggie/berry mix together and add Top Dog Meal Completer. Divide into portions and freeze.
